Eight Bryan ISD Students ‘Commended’ in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced that three students from Bryan Collegiate High School, four students from Bryan High and one student from Rudder High have been named Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. 
A Letter of Commendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by school principals to these scholastically talented seniors:

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic performance. These students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

According to the NMSC, students named as “Commended” have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success and represent a valuable national resource.
