Bryan ISD Superintendent Ginger Carrabine Named 'Woman of the Year' by the Boys & Girls Club of the Brazos Valley

Bryan ISD's Superintendent of Schools is the 2023 Woman of the Year. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley gave Ginger Carrabine the honor Wednesday night at the Spotlight on Great Futures Dinner and Awards Celebration at Miramont Country-Club.

The Boys & Girls Club said the event "provided an opportunity to shine a spotlight on remarkable club members who have excelled in academics, character development and athletics."

Superintendent Carrabine's honor was part of the organization's goal to "highlight and acknowledge those in the community who have gone above and beyond in supporting the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley."

Rhonda Watson, Boys & Girls Club of the Brazos Valley Chief Executive Officer, said Ms. Carrabine's award is "presented to individuals who have devoted selfless service through their action, advocacy, financial support and dedication to all boys and girls in the community."

"Ginger's leadership and approach to 'Children First. Always.' assists Club staff and members achieve the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley," Watson said. "The mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens."

Bryan ISD has always held a close relationship with the Boys & Girls Club, where many of its students are members. Superintendent Carrabine's honor recognizes the bond between the two organizations, and Watson is looking forward to continuing it.

"Her selfless service as Superintendent of Bryan Independent School District is action-oriented and apparent," Watson said. "It is a pleasure to honor and recognize her contributions."

Ginger Carrabine shares a similar appreciation for the Boys & Girls Club.

"I value the relationship we have with the Boys & Girls Club," Carrabine said. "I believe the club is an extension to our schools. I appreciate the opportunities afforded to our students and I'm grateful for the strong partnership."

Brig. Gen. Joe Ramirez served as a keynote speaker at the event where Austin Bryan was selected as Man of the Year.
